Botox and Filler Injections

Lately, we have observed that Botox and filler injections performed for aesthetic purposes are being administered by unauthorized individuals or physicians.

Important Note!

Recently, we have observed that Botox and filler injections performed for aesthetic purposes are being administered by unauthorized individuals or physicians. If these procedures are not performed by qualified professionals, they can result in serious side effects such as tissue damage (necrosis) and dangerous infections instead of the desired aesthetic results.

We recommend that you pay attention to the expertise, experience, and qualifications of the physician you choose before the procedure, and that you request information and the package insert of the product you will be using from your physician. We remind you that aesthetic procedures can only be safely performed by a dermatologist or plastic surgeon!

Botox

Botox, also known as "botulinum toxin," is a substance derived from the bacterium Clostridium botulinum. It is marketed under two approved names: Dysport (UK) and Botox (Ireland).

Botox is used in many areas of medicine, including ophthalmology and neurological diseases, but in the field of aesthetics, it is applied to reduce the movement of facial muscles, thereby minimizing wrinkles caused by facial expressions. These wrinkles are most commonly seen on the forehead, between the eyebrows, around the eyes, and around the mouth.

Botox reduces the movement of facial muscles.

Botox is particularly preferred for reducing wrinkles in the upper half of the face, such as forehead and eyebrow lines, and crow's feet around the eyes.

How is Botox applied?

The procedure is performed via injection. It is generally not painful. The entire treatment takes approximately 5 minutes, and the patient can immediately return to normal life.

How long does the effect of Botox last?

The effects of Botox appear within 7-8 days following injection, and active wrinkles begin to diminish. Reducing very deep wrinkles takes more time. Sometimes, Botox and fillers are used in combination to treat deep wrinkles. The effect of Botox lasts 4-6 months. When the effect of Botox wears off, the application can be repeated as desired.

Does Botox have any side effects?

Botox injections, when performed by a qualified professional, have no serious side effects. Occasionally, mild pain, temporary headache, swelling, bruising, and rarely temporary drooping of the eyebrows and eyelids may occur during the application.

Botox treatment for excessive sweating;

Botox can also be applied to the armpits, palms, and soles of the feet to reduce excessive sweating. It is used to alleviate symptoms in individuals suffering from excessive sweating and associated odor. For more detailed information about Botox treatment for excessive sweating, please click here.”

Can Botox be administered during pregnancy?

Because it is not yet known whether Botox has harmful effects during pregnancy and breastfeeding, it is recommended that it not be administered during these periods.

Filler Application

Dermal fillers are used to eliminate wrinkles or depressions on the face. They are particularly effective in lip augmentation, smoothing the contour around the lips, and reducing lines between the nose and cheeks, giving the face a more youthful appearance. The procedure takes only 10-15 minutes, and the effects are visible immediately afterward.

Dermal fillers are divided into three groups based on their duration of effect:

Temporary fillings (5-12 months):

These are fillers containing collagen or hyaluronic acid (Restylane, Teosyal, Rofilan, Puragen, Estelis, Fortelis, Hylaform, Juvederm, Varioderm, etc.).

Those that are semi-permanent (1-3 years):

They contain calcium hydroxylapatite, dextran, and polycaprolactone (Radiesse, Ellansé, and Reviderm).

Those that last (3-10 years):

They contain silicone, polymethyl methacrylate (PMMA) or polyacrylamide gel (PAAG) (Artecoll, Aquamid, Beautical 2 and 5).

Treatment of lip contour deformities and lip augmentation;

Dermal fillers were previously only used for lip augmentation and correction of wrinkles around the nose. However, thanks to technological advancements in filler technology and improved application techniques and experience, they can now be used to enhance cheeks and cheekbones, correct sunken areas and contour irregularities around the eyes, treat under-eye bags ("tear trough"), and reshape the forehead, addressing any facial imperfection and tissue loss.

Are silicone and permanent pigment injections harmful?

Yes! Liquid silicone and other permanent implant injections are banned in many countries due to the allergies and deaths they cause. Permanent implants can disperse between tissues, leading to displacement, foreign body reactions, and infection, and can never be removed.

At our clinic, we offer Botox and filler treatments based on our extensive experience. Due to legal restrictions, we do not publish images of treated patients. We invite you to visit our clinic to learn more and review the results.
