Cellulite is a phenomenon that primarily affects women, caused by impaired blood and lymphatic circulation to subcutaneous fat cell clusters, leaving a bumpy appearance on the skin. Over time, fibrotic bands form between the fat cell clusters in the affected area, causing depressions and a "orange peel" look to the skin. Cellulite, a dreaded problem for many women and considered a beauty flaw, can be combated with preventative measures.
Nutrition
The more one-sided your diet is, the faster you become susceptible to cellulite. Our tendency towards fast food and ready-made meals negatively impacts tissues. Animal fats, sugar, and salt are our worst enemies. They swell fat cells, cause water retention in tissues, and prevent the body from clearing waste. Fatty foods, in particular, greatly suppress the feeling of fullness. For example, when eating potato salad with mayonnaise or french fries, the "I'm full" signal comes much later. As a result, we eat more and overfeed the fat stores in the tissues. The cells become a shapeless mass and grow ten times larger. Therefore, your diet should include fresh, low-fat, and nutritious foods such as fruits, vegetables, whole grains, rye products, and legumes.
Enzymes are excellent fat-eaters. These enzymes are present in apples and ensure that food is processed and transported without any hindrance. This way, less fat accumulates in fat stores. Chew the apple thoroughly, because the enzyme activity begins in the mouth.
Caffeine
One of the key players is caffeine. Caffeine activates enzymes that break down fat, thereby facilitating lymphatic flow. Water is the best cleanser. Drinking plenty of water cleanses tissues of toxins and waste products. Additionally, substances like calcium, potassium, iron, and magnesium tighten tissues. The effects of these are enhanced by externally applied anti-cellulite products.
Sport
High heels, incorrect walking posture, slouching, etc., are all causes of cellulite. This is because these things negatively affect the backward flow of blood in the veins and lymphatic vessels. Therefore, always remember this: stomach in, breasts out. Standing upright lengthens the body and makes you look slimmer. The same applies to sitting posture. Help with this by doing dynamic sports like jogging and cycling twice a week.
Cellulite can now be completely treated using various methods. Today's new anti-cellulite creams penetrate the skin immediately and directly target fat cells. Some of the active ingredients block fat deposits; others act like traffic police, regulating fat intake and transport.
Massage
Massage is the most important aspect of the treatment. Massage stimulates blood and lymph circulation and ensures that the tissues are filled with fresh oxygen. There are two types of massage that are effective in cellulite treatment.
Circulatory massages: These massages focus on blood and lymphatic circulation. By activating subcutaneous blood circulation, this massage revitalizes the tissue.
Lymphatic drainage massages: these massages are particularly effective on lymphatic circulation. There are both manual and instrumental massage methods. Manual massage is more superficial, while instrumental massage has a deeper effect. Both types of massage result in oxygen reaching the cells and facilitate the removal of toxins from the body.
In cellulite treatment, the most effective method is the body's own drainage. Therefore, begin your self-massage with gentle stroking motions. Using one hand first, then both, gently massage the upper thighs from bottom to top, up to your buttocks. Then, without pinching, take the skin between your thumb and index finger and massage it as if kneading, and don't forget the inside of your knees. The effect of anti-cellulite creams on the tissues is twice as strong if massage is done beforehand. This is because it stimulates lymphatic and blood circulation.
Cellulite creams, acupuncture, ozone therapy, laser treatment, ultrasound, pressure therapy, and mesotherapy are other treatment methods for cellulite; however, the most successful results in cellulite treatment have been obtained with LPG, carboxytherapy, and electrotherapy.
